The tool for importing projects and components could be started from menu called "File -> Import components" on the main screen.
External projects and components you would like to import could be located in a directory or compressed as a zip file.
Click on the sub-menu corresponding to what you want to import.
There are 2 possible behaviors:
•If the specified folder (or content of the zip file) ends with PVsyst7.0_Data\ or Data\ (which is the name of the standard PVsyst user data), the dialog will show you all data inside this directory. This is the recommended way to do: all project related files could be imported automatically.
•If the specified folder does not end with PVsyst7.0_Data\ or Data\, the dialog will only analyze data at this level. It means that you could have projects, components and project related files in the same directory, the tool detects file types.
Then wait for the tool to analyze the data: a representation of data to import is displayed on the left panel. Your current workspace is displayed on the right panel.
On the left panel the data to import are displayed following the PVsyst data structure. Files could have 4 states:
•FileName.Ext written in normal font: the file is not imported for the moment.
•FileName.Ext written on grey background: the file is already imported in current workspace.
•FileName.Ext* followed by a star: the file is already imported in the current workspace but has a different content.
•FileName.Ext written in italic font: a same component is already defined in PVsyst's built-in database. So if it is not a custom one, there is no need to import it.
•On the left panel, open the Projects section: projects to import are displayed followed by their simulation variants. You could import the full projects (including all variants) or just one or more variant.
•Click on the project to select it. Tip: use Ctrl+Click to select more than one element.
•Then click on the >Import> button. Depending on what you would like to import, it could ask you:
oif you would like to import referenced files: referenced files for a project are defined here.
▪Yes: it will copy the full projects including all referenced files.
▪No: it will only copy the project itself.
oif you would like to overwrite files: if some files already exist in the current workspace you could replace them by the imported ones.
▪Yes: replace the current file by the one to import.
▪No: keep the current file.
oif you would like to override component already existing in PVsyst's built-in databases.
▪Yes: copy the component in current workspace and hide the one from PVsyst's database.
▪No: keep the built-in component.
•Wait for the end of the importation: element you imported (and maybe referenced files) are displayed on the right panel (your current workspace).
•On the left panel, open the ComposPV section, then open Batteries or Gensets, ... Tip: you could also import any file from the left panel (meteo or shadings for example).
•Click on the component to select it. Tip: use Ctrl+Click to select more than one element.
•Then click on the >Import> button. Depending on what you would like to import, it could ask you:
oif you would like to overwrite files: if some files already exist in the current workspace you could replace them by the imported ones.
▪Yes: replace the current file by the one to import.
▪No: keep the current file.
oif you would like to override the component already existing in PVsyst's built-in databases.
▪Yes: copy the component in the current workspace and hide the one from PVsyst's database.

•Wait for the end of the importation: elements you imported are displayed on the right panel (your current workspace).
