Manually defining a Geographical site

You have to define the full geographic coordinates of your site (you can do that manually or from the interactive map).

You have to define the full monthly values of at least the Horizontal Global irradiation and Ambient Temperature.

Diffuse irradiation and Wind velocity are optional.

Importing 12 monthly values from another software

If you avail of data in another software (for example EXCEL), as series of 12 values either as line or as column, and with any separator:

  • Choose the suited units for the available irradiations
  • Go to the external software and "Copy" (Ctrl+C) your list of 12 values (Irradiations, Temperatures or Wind velocities),
  • Paste them in the corresponding column (button)
  • Finally, save your new site with a meaningful file name.

Exporting and importing full site data to and from a CSV or Excel

To export the complete site data you can click on "Export table". This will save the site data in a CSV (semicolon separator) format in your clipboard. Then, you can either paste it in excel or any text editor. The default unit for irradiances will be used, i.e. kWh/m2/mth.

To import data directly from a CSV file, you can prepare your data in the same format as the export above. A quick way to obtain a template is therefore to choose an existing site and export it; you can then replace the values as seen fit. The irradiance data has to be prepared in kWh/m2/mth. The required columns of data are Horizontal Global irradiation and Ambient Temperature. You can then copy your data in the clipboard. Clicking on Import will overwrite the current site definitions.
