Profile Angle

The profile angle is the sun's height, relative to a given azimuth. It is used for all mutual shading calculations (unlimited sheds or trackers, walls, balcony, etc).

Let us call Profile Plane the plane passing through an horizontal line perpendicular to a given azimuth, and the sun.

The Profile angle, related to this azimuth, is the angle between this profile plane and the horizontal plane.
