Electrical shading loss

The electrical shading loss corresponds to the real shading loss of the PV array, minus the linear shading loss.

When some cells are shaded in a PV module or an array, the I/V characteristics is disturbed. Intuitively, the string current is driven by the current of the worst cell, resulting in additional losses with respect to the irradiance deficit.

The electrical shading losses are roughly calculated by the option "by module strings" (valid mainly for sheds arrangements), and more accurately be the "Module Layout" tool.
