Versions

PVsyst release cycle is defined by the following versions types:

Major versions

Major versions include many in-depth changes in PVsyst interface and models as well as a bunch of whole new features.
The latest major version is PVsyst 8, previous ones were PVsyst 6, 5, 4 and so on.
These versions are released only when there is a real need to, such as a change in the licensing system.

Minor versions

Minor versions include new features and improvements to existing features. They are released when these features and improvements are ready to be published.
An example of minor version would be PVsyst 8.2.
Minor versions can be installed in parallel on the same computer.

Patch versions

Patches fix issues in minor versions.
They are released as soon as possible to fix these issues, depending on the severity of the problem.
It is recommended that you always use the latest patched version of a minor version in order to benefit from all fixes we have published for it. An example of a patch version would be PVsyst 8.2.5.

Install several versions side-by-side

With PVsyst 8 it is possible to install multiple versions of any kind on the same computer.
