To get the synthetic hourly data from your monthly definitions:
•Select the Source data in the list, (you can verify if it is the site you want with "Open").
•Choose the First Random Seed (between 1 and 10).
•Press the "Execute Generation" button.
The "Use monthly diffuse" option is for information only and remains checked (follow the link).
The Region topology can be chosen from the list below (with examples from places in Switzerland). The effect of this choice is a slight variation of the generated temperature profile for the synthetic hours. More details here.
oOpen site, open terrain, small incline, no raised skyline. Applies to most sites.
oDepression or very flat valley floor, in which cold air collects (e.g. Jura and the Alps).
oExtensive cold hollow / depression (e.g. the valleys of Goms and Oberengadin).
oSea shore or large lake shore (up to 1 km from the shore).
oCenter of larger city (over 100,000 inhabitants).
oSouth facing incline, at least 200m over valley floor (over 10° inclination, facing between SE - SW).
oNorth facing incline at least 200m over valley floor (over 10° inclination, facing between NW - NE).
oWest or east facing incline, at least 200m over valley floor (over 10° inclination, facing between SW - NW or NE - SE).
oInclined floor in mountainous valley at higher altitudes (flat valleys are often treated as depressions).
oFloor of large central valley (e.g. Rhône valley in Valais).
oFloor of valley subject to Föhn (warm descending air currents).
oValley floor / foothills of high mountains (e.g. Alpine foothills / Prealps).
oValley side facing south, up to 200m over valley floor (over 10° inclination, facing between SE - SW).
oValley side facing north, up to 200m over valley floor (over 10° inclination, facing between NW - NE).
oValley side facing east or west, up to 200m over valley floor (over 10° inclination, facing between SW - NW or NE - SE).
oOpen summit above 500m. Overlooking surroundings in all directions.
