Inverter: voltage limits

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The inverter can perform the MPP tracking within a given voltage range,  specified by VmppMin and VmppMax.

When the MPP of the array is outside of this range, the inverter behavior may be:

Limitation: the operating point is clipped at the limit voltage  VmppMin or VmppMax  (all modern inverters). The difference between the MPP and the power at this voltage is lost.
Cut: in some old models the inverter production was stopped when encountering such conditions. The full production was lost.
